Pink detailed birdcage wedding cake at Cooling Castle Barn

Lisa and Johnathon were married on 7th May 2017 at the beautiful Cooling Castle Barn.

They were very keen to have a white birdcage style wedding cake but wanted to incorporate some bright florals and love birds.

The cake was made up of 3 tiers of round cakes, 2 of which were decorated in edible cake lace with sporadically placed sugar roses in shades of pink complemented with bright green sugar rose leaves.

The second tier was decorated with two vintage grey love birds facing each other at the front of the tier.

The birdcage part of the cake was the top tier of the cake and was decorated in all white finished with piping and ribbon and some of the pink sugar roses.

Once the cake was assembled, I loved the way the pink sugar roses “popped” out from the cake and how the roses were also complimented by the green leaves, especially on the simple all white background of the cake.
