Purple and lilac heart wedding cake at The Hop Farm Wedding Venue

Image
This beautiful wedding cake was made for Claire and Mark who were married at the Hop Farm, Paddock Wood in the summer of 2017.   Claire and Mark chose a 3-tier heart shaped wedding cake iced in white icing. Their wedding had a purple and lilac theme, and they wanted their cake to reflect this.   Each tier of the cake was decorated in two tone ribbon in purple and lilac around the edge of each tier. The lilac and purple themed was reflected in the cascade of purple, lilac and white roses that cascaded across the front of the cake diagonally and on the top of the cake.   The cake was finished with lilac, white and purple hearts on wires standing proud of the cake.   The overall cake looked amazing especially when it was set up at the Hop Farm in front of the Oast Fireplace. Paul and Meena's naked wedding cake at Eastwell Manor

Image
Paul and Meena were married at Eastwell Manor, Ashford on Good Friday 2017. It was a beautiful sunny and warm spring day.   They chose a 3-tier naked wedding cake filled with buttercream and decorated in fresh fruits.   A naked cake is a cake whereby there is no icing or frosting on the outside of the cake so that you can see the stacked sponges. The internal structure of the cake with the dowels and boards is exactly the same as any iced wedding cake, even though the cake is much lighter than an iced one.   The fresh fruit adds loads of colour to the cake and makes a fabulous alternative to a traditional cake, all looking fabulous at the most beautiful Eastwell Manor.   Paul and Meena cutting their wedding cake at Eastwell Manor

Sophie and Ian's Buttercream Wedding Cake at The Orangery, Maidstone

Image
Sophie and Ian were married on a very hot July day in 2017 at The Orangery, Maidstone.   Sophie and Ian chose a buttercream wedding cake in a horizontal line pattern finished with sugar flowers.   The sugar flowers were based on their wedding flowers and were made to match them in the specific colours of purple, yellow and pale pink flowers with rose leaves and variegated ivy.   The flowers were placed on alternate sides of the cake on each of the 3 tiers with the foliage over handing the sides.   Sophie and Ian provided their own personalised cake topper.   The cake looked stunning on our vintage wooden crate at The Orangery and the bride and groom were very happy it.   The Orangery is a beautiful venue with fabulous gardens, if you ever get a chance to visit, I would certainly take up the offer and it’s amazing for weddings too!

Nikki and Richard's Pretty Wedding Cake with Personalised Cake Topper

Image
Nikki and Richard were married in 2017 at The Village Hotel, Maidstone.   Nikki chose a very pretty 3 tier wedding cake decorated with Cake Lace, pink and blue ribbon to match their theme and bridesmaids and finished with diamante to add a bit of glitz.   Nikki borrowed our pink pedestal cake stand which not only gave the cake extra height but matched their pink colour perfectly adding that extra bit of detail to their cake table.   The couple were very keen to have a personalised wedding cake topper that they could keep after the wedding. I made the topper using Renshaw Modelling paste so it would set hard and they would be able to keep it.   Richard is a fireman and wanted to be in his Fire Uniform, and Nikki in her wedding dress. So, to this they supplied me many photos of themselves (independently of course so Richard wouldn’t see Nikki’s dress) and I used these to create the figures.   The modelling paste figures will keep indefinitely if it doesn’t get dam...
